Best Weekend Ever!!!

It was just one of the best weekends ever . . . Great Family, Great Food, Great Conference, Great FUN!!!

Kelsey and Rider, hanging out watching conference in our new green chair!!

"Must Have" treats and games to get through Conference!!!

Hey, our new ottoman arrived also.  Do you like it??  We do!

Conference Bingo - always a fun game, but only lasts for a few minutes, then they get bored and just eat the candy!  ha ha

It's become a tradition to make yummy cinnamon Monkey Bread for Sunday Morning Session of Conference.  It's a great way to add 2000 calories to start your day!  haha

I know - it's a Christmas Plate---but hey---it did the job.  We didn't want the yummy sauce running all over the table!

The kids really got into "sketching" drawings during conference.  They had a lot of fun and were able to still listen while they drew.
Here is one of the many views of Kohler during Conference :)

This is yet another view of Kohler during Conference.  No wonder he likes it so much!  Good food, naps, backrubs----ha ha

In between sessions on Saturday, we planted our garden.  We planted spinach, romaine lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower, sweet peppers, and parsley.

Yeah!!! Our garden is IN!!!

After planting the garden, the kids jumped in the pool.  Soon after they jumped in we heard a scream from Hailey.   She found this on our rock waterfall:
Oh yes----a huge scorpion.  It had to be about 2 1/2 inches long.  It freaked Tom and I out.  We got some scorpion killer spray which stunned it for a few seconds, then it made a move to escape again.  That was when my flip flop came in handy and I smacked the crap out of it!  Then, after killing scorpion #1, we hear Spencer's friend yell, "Oh my gosh! There is another one over here!" Yes - scorpion #2, a much smaller one but just as gross, was right next to our blue pool mat.  What a blessing that nobody was hurt!  I looked at Tom and said, "You know what this means, right?  It's time to move!"  In the 9 years that we have lived in Arizona we have NEVER seen a scorpion in our yard until Saturday.  Tom said the day we find one is the day we move!  Well . . . it looks like we survived it ok and we will stay put for a while.  But now I am really cautious about where I walk.  Yikes!

Well, the weekend ended with us making perhaps the best chicken wings to ever hit the planet!  Seriously - my son, Kohler, is a wing-expert and to get the thumbs up from him was a BIG DEAL.  I will post the recipe I created for the sauce later.  But for now, just know that it was AMAZING!!!!  I think the pictures say it all . . .

We all downed a total of 60 wings and laughed our heads off while licking the amazing sauce from our fingers.  I think one of my most happiest times being a mother is watching my children laugh---really laugh because they are having so much fun!

Of course, we had to fit 3 episodes of Merlin in before we went to bed----As if we weren't sick of the TV by the end of the day!  For Merlin?  No way!  We had to fit that in.  :)

It was one of those weekends that on Monday morning you wake up and say, "Man, that was just such a fun weekend.  I don't want it to end!"  We are all missing each other today.
We just LOVE being together!
