It's always fun when Grandpa and Grandma Come!

My mom and dad flew in from California late Wednesday night and it has been so much fun having them here. They used to have a condo in Scottsdale that they would stay at when they come but it just wasn't the same.  They would come and stay for a little while but then leave and go back to their condo.  I love it when they stay at my house because that is where the "bonding" with my kids happens.  It's the little talks on the way to school, the tickling during the football game, the laughter during breakfast, helping Spencer with piano practice before school-----the list goes on.  It is just so much fun when they are here!

Kelsey entered an art contest for Constitution Week here in Gilbert.  She did it back in 4th grade and placed 2nd among all the 4th graders in Gilbert.  So, she decided to do it again this year.  Kelsey had the painting almost finished but wasn't sure how to do the background.  When she asked her Grandpa how to do it, he came up with a genius idea and together they made it look awesome!

The title of the piece is:  "The Constitution is a Fortress for our Freedom."  The painting has the  Constitution rolled up in a scroll protected by wooden logs, like a Fort.  She came up with the design on her own and it turned out so beautifully.  We framed it before she went to school and it looked really nice.  No matter how the contest turns out, we think she is a winner!

Here's my cute mom and dad at Kohler's football game.  (awesome AZ sunset in the background!)

My dad loves to tease his name's sake!  (Spencer Michael was named after my dad, Michael)

Kohler didn't get much playing time because our team was getting killed and they put out their first string players.  Still, it was a fun game to watch.

Kohler is number 49 ---he's somewhere in the middle!  This is a chant they do after every game to thank the crowd and show great team spirit.  I love it!!!

Tomorrow night we are all going to hear Melanie sing at the Lamb of God Concert at the ASU Gammage.  Can't wait!

I am so blessed to have such incredible parents.  I love them sooooooo much!!!
